This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am requesting a variety of supportive tools to help my students when they require breaks during the day at school. Multi-sensory stress relief items can help students self-regulate; workbooks can support students in learning coping skills to use when faced with stressful situations; snacks can end pangs of hunger that can distract from learning and healing; and comfortable seating can help students take a moment to relax and recharge.
Being in school 6-7 hours a day can be stressful for many of our students, especially if they are experiencing anxiety, depression, and symptoms related to exposure to traumatic events.
The items I am requesting can support my students when they need a break from class and need help to regulate emotions, decrease negative symptoms of anxiety, depression and trauma and simply work towards healing.
