This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of my students struggle with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and more. I want to provide my students with a safe space where they can enter my room and feel the positivity.

I know that when they are surrounded by positivity, provided tools, and reminders, they are not alone.

There are strategies that allow my students to "feel better" about themselves. For example, the posters that will be displayed will be positive to help with their mental health.

I also want my students to know that mental health is something that they should feel comfortable talking about and something that needs to be addressed. The journals will allow students to track their thoughts and actions and will allow them to go back and reflect.
