My Students

Our vision at our Elementary School is “Believe. Achieve. Succeed. Dream Big and Make It Happen!” We are a K-5 public school of 350 students located in urban Honolulu. We believe that students learn best in a safe, fun and engaging school environment. At our School, we are proud of our cultural diversity and the array of supports and experiences we provide for our students.

Our curriculum focuses on 21st Century Teaching and Learning Process to engage student creativity and curiosity through project-based inquiry.

Our students learn best through hands on experiences. For many, English is their second language. In order to connect all students and create a very engaging environment I'd like to create a Makerspace in the library for all to use. This project will motivate students to create and dream big as they adjust to their new life in Hawaii.

My Project

Our future will be filled with robots of all types. This robot will be integrated into student inquiry projects. One second grade class would like to experiment with coding and robotics to design a way to pollinate flowers using robots because they read about the bee population decreasing. Another group of Kindergarteners would like to design a robot to gather the tiny caterpillars to protect them from wasps that lay their eggs on them killing the caterpillar. This robot will help students learn how to code, how robots work, and how they can design projects to help man kind. Students who learn to code and program robots will be prepared for a future we haven't even dreamed of yet!

Students who learn to code and program robots will be prepared for a future we haven't even dreamed of yet!

Coding and programing at the elementary level will engage and excite all students and will help prepare the our students for the 21st Century and a successful future.
