"A picture is worth a thousand words". I am a third grade teacher who teaches in a low income community.
The students in my school face so many problems, and coming to school should not be a problem for them too. They should come to school and have everything they need in order to succeed.
I am requesting the help of a digital camera so my students can see the excitement on their faces and their classmates faces when they learn something new. This will grab their attention, and they will be excited about learning. Pictures will make their learning experiences come alive.
My students need a digital camera because all children like to see themselves in a picture. When we are learning new and exciting things in the classroom, I would like to take pictures of them being excited, and helping their classmates out. The memory of the picture will last a lifetime.
Also, with a digital camera it allows the children to see the picture instantly so they don't have to guess or wonder how the picture came out. If someone's mouth is open or their eyes are closed, you know it right away. This eliminates having to "hope" the pictures came out alright.
A digital camera will serve a meaningful purpose in our classroom, because the children will be able to remember all the priceless moments we shared in the classroom learning and having fun together.
