My Students
This is the first of three years with my new baker's dozen of students! Beginning in 3rd grade and not leaving until 5th grade, we are sure to make lasting memories in elementary school. Now that we are settling into our first year together, I am noticing that there are still many things to learn about my new students. In noticing this dilemma, I have also recognized that there are newer trends in education that I could learn to better assist my students with disabilities.
Teaching is a lifelong learning profession that constantly changes throughout the years.
To be able to address this changes, I wish to become a member of an organization that is devoted to the needs of young children! Located in Washington, D.C., my students and I enjoy the resources that are provided for them outside of the classroom. Now it is time to have access to resources that could be used inside of the classroom!
My Project
The National Association for the Education of Young Children is an organization that promotes high-quality learning for all children. Membership for this organization provides educators of early childhood students an opportunity for continuous growth and development with their profession. They do this in the form of weekly educational articles, engaging forums in education, and notification of local events surrounding education. Also, when it is time for me to renew my teaching license, I am able to participate in online courses at a low cost. As a teacher for students with disabilities, I want to be on the pulse of the latest trends that are designed to assist and motivate my students. This organization will also provide two free textbooks catered to my profession as well as access to scholarly articles on topics in education.
The National Association for the Education of Young Children is located in Washington, D.C.!
There is a strong presence of teachers in the District of Columbia who are members of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. While I am able to interact with a teaching network across the globe, I am able to have direct communication with members who teach in the same area as myself! Further, it is possible that these teachers also educate and inspire students with disabilities. I want to be able to keep up with the changes and trends in education for my students. By funding this project, you are guaranteeing me a role in this process. I am hoping that you will be able to provide assistance with membership!
