This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Next school year will be my first school year as a first grade teacher! I am so excited to begin this new school year in a new grade. In first grade, we will be able to go more in depth about topics like climate change and its effect on the environment.

I am excited to use these new materials to provoke discussion around how we can be change-makers and a better understanding of our own impact on our environment and the animals that live with us.

The light table will provide a high interest space for students to use to replicate ice or the ocean. The storytelling materials will allow them to play through their ideas of climate change. Both will provide my students a space to try out ideas about how to positively impact the climate and make a difference. I am excited to see all we can think up together!
