This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Education is ever changing and with these changes we often realize we need different supplies or resources to help meet the needs of ALL of our students. In this particular project, I have some new items that would be extremely beneficial for my students. As a teacher, I am noticing more students who need quiet fidget toys to help focus and engage in the learning process. As a result, this project includes some fidgets for students that will help them focus without disrupting the class.
As a teacher, I know it is important to help students not only learn how to read, but to foster a love of reading.
I am also noticing students coming into the classroom at various reading levels and with different interests. That is why I am including some new book sets to not only help meet the needs of my students but provide them with more series they have shown interest in.
Many of the other items on this list are items we have LOVED but we have loved them so much they are in disrepair. For example, we use our whiteboards all the time and have for many years. They are getting quite beat-up and new ones would be amazing! It would also be phenomenal to have them be magnetic for our manipulatives to really take learning to the next level.
Another item on this list is the Snap Circuit kits. My students love these and I also use them for an after school club. However, some of the kits are missing parts and new kits would help more students have access to learning STEM in our classroom.
All of the items on this list will help my students not only learn, but love learning!
