Help me give my students Laptops, high quality headphones with microphones and computer mice to help students learn how to effectively navigate the laptops.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of my students at our school, a Title 1, special education school in Brooklyn, NY face unique learning challenges that make traditional classroom activities difficult. However, with access to specialized technology, these challenges can be overcome.
One student, struggles with reading, recently I introduced Google classrooms new application, Read Along.
It gave him the opportunity to practice his reading, fluency and accuracy all in one. His enthusiasm to continue to use Read Along highlights the incredible potential of technology to support my students. I want to be able to provide this and many more opportunities to my students.
To continue to make these accommodations for my students, we need essential technology, such as high-quality headphones with microphones and computer mice to help our students learn to navigate laptops effectively.
In addition, funding the two laptops will ensure that each student in the class will have a laptop available. This will give all students access to valuable tools supporting their diverse needs in math, reading and writing.
Together, we can help these incredible students build a future filled with independence and confidence, overcoming the obstacles presented by their unique learning needs.
