My Project

Every student needs their basic needs met in order to be successful in the classroom. The materials listed will help me to provide my students with a classroom that helps them to be emotionally regulated, in a healthy learning environment, with food in their tummys and access to fun and meaningful learning experiences.

Although we have a cafeteria on campus and other social services available to our students, many students are still not having their basic needs met.

This in turn affects their academic achievement and success. The snacks requested will help me to ensure that my students have something in their stomachs so they are ready to engage in new learning. Since we are a smaller classroom, we do not receive as much student supplies as other classes. The soap and kleenex are often the first supplies that run out but also are the most important to keep students healthy. The fidget toys and art supplies are being requested to aid students in sensory regulation as well as provide them access to fun learning activities.
