This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Nobody likes sitting on a hard, linoleum floor all day long. Unfortunately, due to the insane cost of rugs, my kids are doing just that. We have tried sitting on cushions, but they have become more of a distraction and an organizational disaster.
My dream is to get a comfortable rug for my kids to sit on in the meeting area.
We spend all of our whole-group lessons in the "meeting area". Ideally, I will soon be able to tell the kids to sit on the rug instead of the meeting area.
This rug is great because it has colored squares so that each student can have personal space. First graders are still learning and practicing boundaries, so this will help my students have a visual aid on personal space.
