This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The request is to fund a completed published manuscript of student writing project with Student Treasures publishing company about Marine Animals. Students researched and wrote about a marine animal and wrote about it in both English and Spanish. These students have been enrolled in a dual language program since kindergarten and have continued their academic studies in both languages. My students are special because they are not only eager to learn in one language but are also making significant progress in becoming truly bilingual students. They come from low income and limited education households but are still putting forth effort and making progress in acquiring and applying both languages learned.
