This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is a self-contained kindergarten class. My student population consists of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disabilities, and Intellectual Disabilities.

Working with this population can be difficult, but it is super rewarding within this environment.

I teach the most interesting, caring, well-behaved scholars ever! My school is a student-centered environment filled with "World-Class Teachers!" As a team, we are continuously brainstorming ways to evolve as educators, and we are also advocates for family involvement in the learning process!

My Project

It is the beginning of kindergarten and we are starting to make people. Our people though have no place to store their food, hear conversations or walk to the store! They are missing their bodies, ears, and feet.

It is time that my students meet Mat Man!

He is the super hero that will help us create people that can hear, see, smell, eat, touch, and walk places.

My students and I are also asking for storage bins, a subscription to Lesson Pix, and a teacher plan book. We need bins to store Mat Man after we finish learning with him daily. My students and I also want a subscription to Lesson Pix so we can learn through visuals. Finally I am asking for a Lesson Plan book to help me stay organized and create engaging lessons for my students. For example I want to be able to write the steps for making slime, explain how to solve a word problem using kid friendly terms and write who is going to each center.

Please help my students and I make this project become a reality.
