My Project
In today's world, it's increasingly important for students to develop stress management and emotional regulation skills. These skills are essential for academic success, personal well-being, and overall quality of life. To help our AVID students cultivate these vital abilities, I am requesting a class set of the book Meditations for Mortals by Oliver Burkeman
This book will be incredibly powerful for student because it offers a collection of short, accessible meditations that can be incorporated into daily routines.
By providing our students with these books, we aim to help students reduce stress and anxiety, improve focus and concentration, enhance emotional intelligence, and foster a positive and supportive classroom environment.
Our AVID students are a diverse group of dedicated and motivated individuals who are committed to academic excellence in high school and beyond. AVID is a college-readiness program that helps students achieve their college dreams. AVID students tend to be first-generation , students of color, and from low-income backgrounds. By providing them with tools to manage stress and improve their emotional well-being, we can help them overcome these obstacles and achieve their full potential.
We believe that investing in our students' mental health is an investment in their future. By providing them with a class set of Meditations for Mortals, we can create a more supportive and nurturing learning environment that will benefit them for years to come.
More than half of students from low‑income households
