Medical Science Mural Panels

Help me give my students these Blick Matt Acrylic paints to create mural panels for our schools medical science department. The additional brushes will supplement our current inventory of brushes with a wider variety of sizes.

My Students

Our school offers students a new approach to education with an emphasis on student-led STEAM education. The school recently completed construction on a new campus and because of its focus, we offer a rich technology environment. We encourage students to explore and create innovative approaches to analyzing and solving present and future world problems through hands-on investigations and experiences.

Our school also embraces traditional exploration in the visual arts and new age materials and techniques.

Students from our community apply and select to go to this school as an option over other area schools because of the opportunities we offer. It should also be noted that our students are in a high poverty area making it even more important for the students to have an opportunity to engage in high tech career exploration, so they can secure an upward mobile future. Students can follow a career track for certifications in a trade or a college path that allows them to graduate with not only their diploma, but also an Associate College degree!

My Project

Our medical science department requested my students to paint medical science illustrations for two purposes. One to illustrate the anatomy that students will study in our medical career path program and second to block the view of students that often stop to watch medical videosw and demonstrations that are not best for the faint of heart.

These painted medical panels will involve both art and medical students in their choice of subject and production allowing both departments to be involved in a cross-curriculum experience.

The murals that are produced with these paints and brushes will serve to educate and inspire medical and fine arts student for many years with a hands-on experience into the field of medical illustration and the study of human anatomy.
