My students work hard and I love to provide them with tangible rewards to show them how proud I am of them. Each year, they have the opportunity to make it to math fact clubs as reading clubs. To make it to a math fact club they have to be able to complete 50 math facts in two minutes. To make it to the reading club they have to read 100 books outside of school. They also have the opportunity to compete in the grade level spelling bee. I also give top winners a trophy.
For each of these activities, I like to reward the ones that make it to a club or win the spelling bee with a medal.
They get so excited when their name is announced and they get to wear it around all day - or even the days after!
These items can get pricey so having these funded would be amazing!
