I teach full day kindergarten in a Title One school in South Carolina. We cover all subject areas including math and science.
Our school failed to make Adequate Yearly Progress, due in part to the inability of our students to use measurement concepts and tell time. This was a particular problems for our minority students from high poverty backgrounds.
I an requesting hands on activities to teach concepts of measurement and time. This project will serve my 21 students this year as well as future classes. It will also benefit the other students in my grade level as we share materials. By providing hands on learning opportunities, I hope that all my students will have a better chance of mastering these important skills.
You're assistance will be greatly appreciated and will allow my students opportunities to learn that they will not have otherwise.
