Help me give my students real world fraction manipulatives to build a cup full of understanding.

My Students
I teach 5th grade to a fantastic bunch of hard workers. All I ever ask is that they try their best and they consistently bring much more than that!
I have an idea for how to close some gaps and keep learning fun.
My Title I students would really appreciate this reusable set of math manipulatives so we can all keep learning together.
My Project
One of the biggest areas of weakness for our school is mathematics. We know that by connecting mathematics to real-world problems, students engage with the material on a different (more focused) level. Additionally, by using visual and manipulative tools when learning new math concepts, we can help students make the jump from a concrete (basic) understanding to a more abstract (higher level) understanding. These fraction measuring cups will help lay the foundation for basic understanding of fractional concepts, and build to more complex concepts (such as equivalent fractions, adding and subtracting fractions, and multiplying and dividing fractions).
The innovative element of this project is that it will allow students a different type of hands-on fraction manipulative that directly connects to real-world applications.
Other fraction manipulatives don't always connect to the real world (i.e. - fraction bars), and traditional measuring cups do not clearly show the differences between each fraction. By utilizing both a connection to the real world and a visual representation of each fraction piece, this manipulative provides a different way for students to build their understanding of fractions.
