My Project

This will help my students to understand various aspects of measurement including; length, area, volume, weight, time and temperature.

Measurement is an everyday life skill that is critical for people of all ages.

Children will engage in hands-on math activities that will provide them with a visual representation of beginning measurement concepts. The concepts they will learn will help when constructing, making a recipe, and understanding how measurement is used in numerous real-life applications.

The various measurement centers and geometric kits will be used to help students visualize capacity, practice measuring length & distance, compare weight, and find perimeter, area, and volume.

Using the Legos, the students will be able to build 3-dimensional models to help them to understand that volume is made up of cubic units. They will be able to build and take apart the figures that they construct to understand how volume is found.
