it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I’m reaching out to request your support for an exciting, interdisciplinary project that brings together English and Physical Education classes at our school.
With your help, we hope to purchase a flexibility trunk and sets of gel pens to launch a wellness and writing initiative that inspires students to connect physical movement with personal growth and academic reflection.
In collaboration with our school's gym teacher, students will assess their current level of flexibility using the trunk. Over time, they will work toward improving their results through consistent effort and goal-setting. In English class, they will journal about this journey, recording their challenges, progress, and reflections, using their own gel pens to foster ownership and pride in their work.
This simple, yet impactful project, meets students where they are. It boosts self-awareness, supports mental and physical health, and strengthens their writing and critical thinking skills. By creating a real-life connection between gym and English class, students will see that learning isn’t isolated; it’s a whole-person experience.
Additionally, this project will enhance classroom morale, build confidence, and bring joy through physical success and expressive writing. Your donation will not only provide essential materials, but also inspire students to believe in their own growth, in body and mind.
