This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Please help provide my students with meaningful and fun music activities. Did you know musical games can help students sing without worrying of what other students in the classroom think? This is especially important with the older students who are in the phase of voice changes and becoming adolescents. By giving them a musical game task to focus on, they are able to sing when they otherwise might not.

We have many students who come in not speaking any English but are able to partake and enjoy the activities of music.

My students come from a diverse background of different cultures. We are a title 1 school with many homeless students and all students receive free lunches.

Did you experience the joy of a parachute? Have you ever seen it used in a musical way to promote creativity, fun, and to focus on learnings such as musical form? Bucket Drumming is also a joyful, accessible, and affordable way to bring world rhythms to the music classroom. Bucket drums can help us learn and practice rhythms and teamwork. They can also help students who are interested in percussion easily transition to the drums or mallet instruments.

By helping provide these classroom items, you not only support 200 students this year, but many more for years to come.
