My Project

Math works best when it is meaningful! Through manipulatives like dice to introduce probability and money to represent place value, abstract concepts become concrete. Clipboards provide the opportunity for more movement as we learn, both inside and outside the classroom.

Through the classic Barbie Bungee Jump math activity, students test hypothesis and collect data as Barbie (and Ken) use rubber bands to bungee jump, learning basic statistics and linear modeling to then predict how many rubber bands it would take for a thrilling but safe bungee jump off the Aloha Tower!
