My Project
As eighth-grade teachers in a low-income/high-poverty school district, our students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, we are always looking to keep things simple and provide our students with meaningful learning experiences.
Our students are full of enormous potential.
Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with 100% of our students receiving free lunch. Our school is also very ethnically diverse schools. Students speak a multitude of languages including English, Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, Burmese, Arabic, Bosnian, and many more. As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are also diverse in their academics.
A gift card to TPT will allow me to purchase interactive and engaging interactive notebooks, escape rooms, and other digital content to help the students' problem solve, discuss, create and use their critical thinking skills together.
Teaching social studies students love to dig deep into the content and problem solve with one another.
Escape rooms would provide that opportunity as well as allow them to enhance their inquiry and reading skills. Interactive notebooks are amazing for students who need layered text and struggle with subjects such as history. Making learning relevant, engaging, and fun while improving their skills in a multitude of ways is essential.
