Mean Girls Musical Needs: Lights, Camera and (swift )Action!

My Project

The students at my school come from very diverse backgrounds and represent countries from all over the world. Music is the universal language that has brought us together. 32 extremely talented students are performing in our Spring Musical, Mean Girls, Jr.

Our urban school has a large population of refugees from Africa, Palestine, Israel, Honduras, Nepal, as well as Black, Latino and Appalachian students, who are experiencing theatre for the first time!

Multiple studies have shown that students who participate in drama often achieve higher standardized test scores, maintain better attendance records, and stay generally more engaged in school than their non-arts counterparts. This cast is no exception, filled with Honor Roll students whose stars shine bright throughout our school.

Our theatre program resources have grown, thanks to Donations from DonorsChoose. This year, we want to videotape our show with our own Kodak Pix Pro camera. We want to take pictures throughout our rehearsals and create stunning headshots of our cast members.

Our costuming ideas include white gloves and masks for a glowing neon dance, under the blacklights. Swirling stars are a theme throughout the musical that we can easily create with the star projector.

We are running out of time and need this project funded by March 5th to have what we need for this production. We pray that you'll choose US! Thank you for looking at our project!
