My Project
I am reaching out on behalf of my high school class in support of creating an ecosystem where we can watch and learn from watching small insects, animals, and plants live and thrive.
I believe this will be a valuable resource for my students as they will get to learn about how the different components of an ecosystem work together while taking a hands-on approach to observing the growth and development of plants and animals in a natural setting.
Prior to diving into photosynthesis, the students will work as a class to choose seeds to plant in the hydroponic system. Once we begin studying photosynthesis, the students will get to witness photosynthesis happening firsthand in our classroom. This will deepen their understanding of this complicated subject, and encourage or foster their love for science
This project is important to me because I believe it will bring excitement to my class and provide my students something to look forward to each day, and an opportunity to connect with nature. We will have a bearded dragon class pet, who will make his home in the reptile tank. We will be able to feed our bearded dragon vegetables from the garden we grew in the hydroponic garden set. This will show house, cellular respiration and photosynthesis go hand-in-hand. This will provide my students with a place to learn and appreciate the natural world. The terrarium kit will create another nature focal spot in my classroom. Your donation will help me provide all the items I need to make this come true for all of my classes.
