This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We have four after-school basketball teams at our school. I recently found out that we are limited with basketballs. Even though I played basketball in high school, this my first time coaching elementary sports. I am excited about it. We have a lot of young athletes who need the exposure and development.

Our student-athletes are located in the inner city.

Many of them crave the opportunity to participate in after-school sports. I feel that it will be a better experience during practice if we have enough basketballs to run drills for both the 4th and 5th grade teams as well as the K-3 basketball teams.

My Project

Our school has four developmental teams. These basketballs will afford all the teams balls to practice at every level of their game. Some teams practice on the same day. With a limited amount of basketballs, running plays might become challenging. These additional basketballs will help students feel even more serious about the game.

We really want our 4th and 5th graders to get prepared to be the middle school standouts that we know they will be.

We need additional basketballs to make this happen. Please help fund this project. These basketballs will last for many seasons to come at our school.
