This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a group of 30 wonderful kindergarten scholars who are learning to speak, read and write in Spanish as part of the Dual Language Academy in my district. My scholars are primarily English Learners and range in academic abilities. For many of my students, it is the first time they experience learning a new language. Difficult as it may be, each and every one of my students eagerly accepts the challenge and is proud of their newly acquired knowledge.

My Project

My kindergarten scholars enjoy expressing themselves using the free Seesaw app. When using this app, students are able to practice their oral language skills as they record their voices while they read a short text or practice counting to 100. My kinder scholars always look forward to sharing their learning with their parents.

Unfortunately, with 30 students in the classroom and many recording at the same time, it is very difficult to obtain clear recordings.

The headsets with microphones will help my scholars share their accomplishments with parents. It will also help us make the most of our recording time since we only have the Chromebooks twice a week.
