Every year our school does a school-wide May Day program celebrating our Hawaiian culture. The students work hard all of second semester learning a hula to share with their peers and families. Everyone looks forward to this showcase. This year, our theme is Make a Lei, Give a Lei, Wear a Lei. Each grade level is assigned a color that represents one of the Hawaiian Islands. Our color is yellow.
We would like to give our students matching outfits to perform in.
Our plan is to have the students bring in plain white shirts and we will have them stamp/paint a yellow flower lei around the neckline. We will also have the girls wear yellow hibiscus clips in their hair and have the boys wear yellow sashes around the waist (we'll cut up / use the table cloths for this to be cost effective.)
Your donation would help make this vision come to life. Thank you for your consideration of our 1st grade project!
