Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach sdc moderate/severe 3-5th Grade special ed students. Each of my students have specific set of goals stated on their IEPs, and I work on creating new ways to serve them, and make sure that I accommodate each of their learning styles. My students are diagnosed with autism and some with intellectual disability but are some of the brightest students that I've met. They carry out full-blown conversations about their day, their interests, and about the books that we read.
My Project
These materials will help create a comforting space and provide the necessary visual support that my students need in their classroom. I want to make sure that the space is set up for them to make maximum use of it and feel like they are at home.
The pocket chart and stand will help students have a visual classroom schedule for them to refer back to on a daily basis.
The beanbag chair will be used for our calming/relaxing area that will help students find a spot where they can take a break whenever they need it.
The ink, laminating sheets, and velcro dots will help me create all of the visuals that my students need throughout the classroom.
