This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I would like students to use individual whiteboards every day to show their work and get immediate feedback throughout the lesson, but all students need to have accessibility to materials needed to use individual whiteboards. I have the boards, but am in need of markers, erasers, and a magnetic whiteboard paper to show math problems to students in class throughout the year. Using whiteboards let's students be creative and have fun while learning skills. It also serves as a motivational tool to help students become excited about learning.

My goal is to provide about 90 students with the necessary materials to learn math creatively.

It is also a requirement to teach with individual whiteboards according to the district guidelines to teach math. Most of my students aren't able to get the materials needed, so DonorsChoose may be a very helpful resource to help my students. Learning math creatively and in different ways can be very motivational to students to want to learn.

My students are special in many ways. I teach bright children, but they need help with necessary supplies. Many of my students come from low-income families and can't always provide all necessary supplies for school. Being these supplies have become necessities recently, it will be difficult for some to learn with whiteboards, markers and erasers in the classroom. They also could use materials that help them become motivated to want to learn because students are using materials they love to use.

Whiteboards are a great motivational tool for students to show their work individually and in small group.

I truly appreciate any help to purchase these items through donations toward my project. My students and I truly appreciate any donations that are given. Thank you very much.
