This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Imagine this. You walk into your math classroom. You could be having a good day, a bad day, perhaps a mediocre day even. You may or may not have the desire to learn mathematics, but you understand that it must be done regardless of how you feel. However, things feel a little bland, a little dry. You have but one pencil for yourself, and the eraser is missing for some reason. You feel as though you aren't even able to try things, as there will be permanent graphite streaks left upon your paper. Things aren't as bright and colorful as they could be, this much is certain. Then all of a sudden you gaze upon your desk.

You now have a personal whiteboard, marker, and eraser!

Suddenly the entire classroom is full of colors where it once was bland. You can make mistakes on your whiteboard. You can use it to demonstrate your thinking, time and time again. You can even play whiteboard games with friends (when appropriate of course). The possibilities in the classroom have expanded vastly. There is a general feeling of joy growing exponentially at the sight of what is now possible.

This is what is possible with the funding of these supplies. Also, trust me when I say we really need some highlighters for note taking, I have only recently learned this the hard way. Anything is sincerely appreciated.
