This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are motivated and eager to learn. After not being in a classroom for more than a year, my students are so excited to be in school. They enjoy being read to, and after they have heard books read to them, they enjoy reading them on their own. They have a wonderful knack for connecting personal experiences with the literature they have read. They are learning a second language and developing their vocabulary every day. My end in mind is to develop a love of reading that will take my students on great adventures throughout their lives.

I teach 24, first-grade, second language learners who are living in a low-income community in Los Angeles.

Our school is a Title I-funded school with students from preschool to fifth grade. At our school, we strive to instill the idea in our students that they are thinkers, leaders, and change-makers. We are the first Leader in Me school in our area, and we are very proud to be developing our future leaders, thinkers, and change makers!

My Project

We are learning about place value in mathematics. I am excited because my students are excited about learning math.

I'm requesting Jumbo Magnetic Base Ten Blocks for Math - Place Value, Giant Magnetic Dominoes, Classroom Laminating Pouches, Colored Cardstock.

These materials are going to be used to model the math we are learning. Visuals always helps students apply math skills.

I'm also asking for Paint Brushes Sets for painting our ceramic creations and Round Letter Beads to motivate students to learn their sight words. By helping us with these materials you will help us with several subjects of our curriculum.
