My students are so energetic and very creative. They've been through a lot this past year with Hurricane Harvey. They have a passion for learning and becoming the best mathematicians they can be. My classes are a very diverse group of students with all different types of learning abilities and styles. I strive to be a teacher that allows my students to move around and have hands-on activities in my classes.
As a 5th grade math teacher, I want t to prepare my students for group work getting them ready for middle school.
Allowing them the opportunity to have post-it paper and chart markers will allow them to reflect and answer problems in stations, four corner activities and in gallery walks around our classroom. My students will be able to display their work on post-it paper in our classroom, hallways, and around our school showing off their newly learned math skills.
My Project
This funding will allow my students to be able to reflect their learning in groups while working on different math activities. The Post-it chart paper and markers allow for a visual reference for interactive learning to take place in math groups. My students will be able to work in math stations, and interact in math groups and beable to reflect their thinking on their own.
I want to help prepare my students for middle school and real-world team and group work activites.
Giving them the tools needed, will help better their success, brighten their academic future, and allow them to obtain a liking or love formath.
