My Students

I teach a 1st-2nd-3rd grade multi-age classroom at an urban school district in Washington. Many students at our school come from low socio-economic backgrounds and need all of the resources they can get at school!

I am a fourth year teacher needing some help to equip my classroom with math materials to support our state's new adoption of the Common Core Standards.

With this new adoption, teachers have been busy aligning our instruction with these concepts, and resources such as these will really help to make this transition as smooth as can be! With such a broad range of grades (1st-3rd) in one classroom, it can be tricky to meet the needs of all of my learners. With differentiated instruction and math materials to foster a self-directed, hands-on learning atmosphere, my students will be challenged to their specific needs.

My Project

In this project, I am requesting materials such as multiplication/division array flip books for my 3rd grade students, place value boards for 2nd and 1st graders and other math resources to engage students and build their math skills. Other materials I have requested include math vocabulary cards (1st-3rd grade levels) to hang up in our pocket charts so that students can refer back to these math vocabulary words as they talk about the math that they learn.
