Help me give my students the necessary materials to explore math concepts in a fun and engaging way and provide my students the opportunity to access our math standards and have fun doing it!
I am truly fortunate to work with my diverse and unique second-graders everyday. My learners have come to be proud of their accomplishments and work through their weaknesses, despite the challenges they face. I want my students to be engaged in their own learning as much as possible.
My teaching career so far, has provided me with a wealth of memories and experience to inspire me from year to year.
I have been fortunate to teach professionally for five years at three schools and over seven grade levels. I have had many challenges and many successes within this field. Engagement has always been a high priority of mine and learning the needs of my students has helped me provide these kinds of experiences for them. I take a lot of pride in the work I do for my students. The accomplishments of my learners keep me motivated and I am happy and eager to continue to improve myself as a teacher for them.
My Project
The items I am requesting will allow students to take charge of their learning, specifically when it comes to math. Many students struggle with math and are apprehensive to try when it comes to learning new math concepts. I am confident these resources will eliminate apprehension and encourage positivity and fun while learning!
With these new materials, my students will be exposed to a variety of fun and engaging ways to access math concepts that will allow them to thrive independently.
My students will rotate through stations on a daily basis, providing each of them with ample opportunities to explore, learn, and review important math concepts. The materials I am requesting can be used in a variety of ways that will keep the stations novel, fun, and engaging. Students will not only learn math concepts, but will have opportunities to work in small groups and independently, to give them a wide range of experiences.
I have seen firsthand, the positive impact a fun, low-risk learning environment has on students. I believe with these resources, I will be able to provide exactly that for my students.
