My students need an organization station for our math manipulatives.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a child math, was always my worst subject. I am a strong believer in hands-on math activities that will help students gain a better understanding of math.
I have an amazing group of students that come from very diverse backgrounds.
They are from a high poverty neighborhood in New York. Many of the students are English Language learners and need quite a bit of visual and hands-on support. We have a small classroom with a limited amount of space.
My Project
I am requesting a mobile storage cart with drawers. We have tons of great math manipulatives in our classroom, but no place to put them. I think that it is important for these manipulatives to be in a place that is easily accessible for students. I want my students to be able to have the materials they need at their fingertips. Having this mobile storage cart will allow these materials to be in a neatly organized center.
This project is important because students struggle everyday with mathematics concepts.
Providing students with manipulatives so that they can explore various concepts will help them become critical thinkers and life long learners.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
