Mathematical Modeling!

Help me give my students authentic mathematic modeling experiences using futuristic software and technology!

My Project

Students will use the 3D modeling software to create shapes. We will then use slicing software to make gcode for a 3D printer. The 3D printer will use this PLA filament to print shapes. We will explore how changing the length of a shape effects the volume of a shape. We will explore optimization of shapes. We will invent and create things!

Critical thinking and exploration are important skills for future careers!

These grant dollars will go further because we already have a 3d printer. Other math classes in my building will be able to borrow the 3d printers and use this filament.
