It's important to make sure that my students have access to learning materials and activities that foster learning and problem solving in fun and engaging ways. Creating a comfortable learning environment, providing a safe space, and motivating students through games and manipulatives towards their goals are key objectives of mine. I would like to increase student exposure to diverse ways of learning and practice that they would otherwise not be privy to.
Students who aren't ever given interactive games and manipulatives due to financial constraints, will have the chance to participate and interact with these materials in a small group setting
By adding these kinds of mediums to the classroom, I know that my students will continue to engage with the material and grow their love of learning. The students I work with love to participate in games & activities and will make long-lasting connections with others when they can play together. The more games students have in their hands that have diverse strategies, plots, and rules the more educated they will become.
