My Students
Our classroom of students are amazing thinkers and explorers. It is wonderful to see a group of students who are not afraid to take a chance, experiment with another way, and ask questions that make me, as a teacher, really think.
Our students are striving to develop a deeper understanding of a variety or approaches to math and looking at how math is all around them.
I am continually impressed at the passion for learning that 4th graders have. We are reaching for the stars!
To help us achieve our goals this year, we are looking to expand our classroom hands-on tools for mathematical learning.
My Project
Math games engage more than paper and pencil work does. When you add a physical activity to math and a relationship to something in the student's real world, they become more invested in the activity. Using game to solidify mathematical concepts helps students make these connections.
The versatility of using a manipulative in the classroom promotes engagement, social/emotional learning, cooperation, collaboration, and teamwork.
Students thrive in an environment where they can explore and experience different ways of approaching problems. This develops problem solving skills and flexibility to view situations from different angles.
