My Students
I completed my 18th year of teaching. I find myself still in love with teaching. I teach 6th grade and have 3 sections of math. I would like to find activities that can be used in a small group setting or by individual students to reinforce math skills.
My students attend a Title I school in Oklahoma.
Our school is dedicated to meeting the educational, social and emotional needs of every student that walks through our doors. As a math teacher in this day and age, I find myself finding and using different techniques to teach concepts.
My Project
With Math VersaTiles, I will have an activity that addresses the needs of my students. VersaTiles are standards-aligned skills practice that will help students develop fluency of key concepts and skills for their grade level as well as the previous grade level.
I plan to engage students with Math VersaTiles as whole class practice, or small–group guided practice, or as independent work,
Students will review math concepts with visual models that will develop understanding through the challenge of a puzzle. With a puzzle, students will receive the satisfaction of immediate positive feedback. They will stay on task and engaged. My students and I truly need your support to make this a reality!
