This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Attending Oakland schools growing up myself, I know what it is like to not have easy access to tools such as rulers, calculators, or colorful visuals around my classroom.
The tools I am requesting will help students (who are mostly underprivileged/low income) focus on the major concepts (calculators), practice their measuring skills that would be taken anywhere, forever (rulers), and access to colored printers where I can easily print pictures that will help our visual learners learn (colors are very important).
I also love to make projects where students need to print-colored pictures. For example, the past month, students worked on their identity map, and I know colored pictures made a huge difference for their project! I know there are more important community projects to come, where we need easy access to a colored printer.
Thank you for supporting STEAM school located in Oakland!
