Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach an incredible group of 18 first-grade students in a Title I school in South Carolina. During math, we use many manipulatives to help students better see and understand math concepts.

At this time, I am missing key math manipulatives in my classroom that would help my students to succeed.

We currently only have a 120s chart that I made out of poster paper and only a few base-ten blocks.

The materials that are in this project will provide my students with both a 100s chart and a 120s chart that they can manipulate by moving the pieces. In addition, it will give my students enough base-ten blocks so that they are each able to have their own set to practice solving problems with.
