My students are from a low socioeconomic environment. They are very eager and enthusiastic about learning despite their circumstances. Our school is a low-performing Title I school in Georgia. A full 100% of my students receive free or reduced-price lunches. Most of my students love to learn and are most motivated when they can use technology. Unfortunately, the one student station that I have is old, barely works, and is quite unreliable. This year only two of my students have the use of technology at home.
My Project
Classroom storage is always a huge concern. With the way things are today with Covid-19, I am striving to find ways to keep my students learning and SAFE, providing them with the essential math tools that will help them to understand math concepts while still remaining safe. Students desperately need hands-on manipulatives across grade levels. Often times it's challenging to provide students with adequate supplies and there is not always enough to share. Students, parents, and I will feel more at ease knowing that each child will have a separate math box to enhance their learning!
