My students need new materials such as Numbers & Counting Folder Game Library and activity centers to give them exciting and inviting ways to learn math through play.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Seed's classroom raised $207

My Students
One of my goals for this project is to foster my students' love of learning. I can do this while letting them play if I provide the appropriate materials with a purpose.
The students in the classroom come from diverse backgrounds.
They are a mix of students from traditional homes, to ethnic and varied family mixes. Each child comes to our school to learn and begin their path to making many new friends. Play is the way to make that happen.
My Project
When young children learn, they do this best through play. As a teacher, I try to offer them varied opportunities to learn with exciting and interesting toys. Each year the students are drawn to different materials. I can encourage their enthusiasm for learning by having quality materials that I am able to change often. Each toy is also teaching a different concept.
Early on we begin the year with number recognition and counting.
As the year moves on the students start learning about measurement and weight. This goes along with the literature they are being read, to make an circle of learning. This learning leads to rich conversation among the students and the teachers. A classroom rich with language that flows naturally from the play of children is the goal of every early childhood teacher.
