My Students
Have you ever hear someone say "I'm just not any good at math"? Well I hear that a lot from my students. Many of them struggle with math and are easily frustrated. This interactive math software for our smartboard will go a long way helping keep my students engage so they can experience success.
I teach 5th grade in a title 1 public school.
Most of my students come from homes with few resources that enhance learning. Many have never left the state or city we live in. Despite all of this they are very eager learners and thrive on hands on activities and anything that involves technology. Our classroom recently got a new smartboard and it has been amazing to see how easily it engages my struggling students and helps keep them on task.
Even though many of my students struggle with math and reading, I believe they all have the potential to succeed, and education is the key. Given the right resources and learning environment my students can break the cycle of poverty and reach their full potential.
My Project
I'm requesting interactive math software for our new smartboard. Many of my students struggle with math and have never really experienced success in this area. Because of this it is difficult to keep them engage and on task. My students love technology and this software will go a long way in keeping them engaged and make it possible for them to realize they can be great at math. The software I'm requesting will cover all areas of math, multiplication & division, fractions, geometry, measurement, algebra, and problem solving to name a few.
This software will help me meet the needs of all my students. It will help my struggling students to soon be working on grade level and I will be able to challenge my students already on or above grade level. Education is the great equalizer and this software will go a long way in changing the lives of my students.
This software will do more than help my students become great math students, it will also help build their confidence.
When students experience success in one area it gives them the confidence to try new things and challenge themselves.
