My Project

This the final phase of an earlier project. As an AIG and ESL certified Math Teacher, I’ve learned over the years that when my students can understand the Math they can do the work.

Unfortunately, I find many of my students wanting to talk about math, learn about math, and read about math, but when an adult or a classmate is not there to translate for them, they can not understand the Math and hence they can not work the problems.

Simply because they don't speak the language of instruction. The root of the problem is most of the middle school students I work with are learning math in a foreign language. They are faced with the expected challenges of not being English speakers in an English-speaking class. A reality much too common. But what if these translator pens students also work hard, are motivated to learn, have the capacity to learn, and have the drive to learn despite the language obstacles? Then there is hope.

With translator pens, my students will be able to complete their homework, submit class projects and assignments more effectively. With your help, translator pens will be a valuable resource for my students, enabling them to overcome language barriers and achieve their fullest potential. Equipping my students with translator pens will foster a more collaborative and supportive learning environment, whether that's in math class, science class, or any other class.
