This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My school is very diverse. Most of my classes have students who speak more than 1 language. I have at least 10 different countries represented in my classroom. Our students come from very diverse economic standards too. I have students who do not have the resources to buy school supplies.

To set students up for success, I am asking for pencils, grid paper, colored pencils, and folders. These supplies will allow them to be prepared for my class each day. We are piloting a math program where they need paper, a pencil, and a folder daily to show their thinking. The colored pencils are for the concepts where students need color for different number lines, graphs, and geometric concepts.
I am asking for these supplies to prepare my students for success. If they know they have the supplies, they are prepared to learn.
