My Students
Our school serves students from diverse backgrounds, over 80% of whom qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. These students and their families work so hard, but often feel left behind.
My students are resilient and have immense potential, but they need support in order to succeed!
Many of my students have experienced trauma, immigrated to the country recently, or moved between many schools in the area due to financial insecurity or family challenges. Therefore, lots of them have significant gaps in their learning and need additional opportunities to catch up.
My Project
We're trying a new math curriculum this year, and it's a learning experience for the students (and me)! I'm already seeing that they are enjoying math more and I want to keep building on that!
These supplies will help make my instruction time more effective and efficient, while also providing the students tools to improve their ability to work with their teams and show their thinking during work time.
The chart paper and timer are to help increase the timing and fluidity of my teaching and modeling, while the dry erase "pockets,” markers, and erasers are to help students work efficiently with their teams on group projects and games.
