My Students
Our school is beginning a new adventure next year. We are departmentalizing our fifth grade! The three 5th grade classes will rotate from teacher to teacher for different subject areas. This is in an effort to prepare them for their junior high school and high school experience. It also gives the teachers the opportunity to specialize in a given subject area.
This is an exciting time for me, personally, because I have always loved teaching mathematics.
Now, I will get the chance to be the math teacher for the entire fifth grade! In preparation for an amazing school year and to give my students the best experience possible, I am grateful for your contribution to my new math classroom!
My Project
In an effort to keep math concepts fresh, I want to create a math station with a variety of games, puzzles and tasks for the kids to work on together. Review doesn't have to be a boring old worksheet! With these fun games and activities, the kids can review math skills while having fun with friends.
Learning centers are an amazing way to get students to take a more active role in their learning.
Math centers can provide much-needed review, practice, and enrichment for students that is differentiated to meet students' needs and interests. Using math centers can have an amazing impact!
