My Students
My students attend a public elementary school in Illinois where 100% of our students come from low income households. All my students are excited about learning, from the moment they walk in the door, until the moment they put their homework in their backpack in the afternoon. We take advantage of many different learning styles throughout the day to keep all students engaged.
My class of 25 students has a broad range in learning level and preferences, so students are always working at their own individual level.
My Project
My students have a broad range of learning styles and skills. The IXL learning program will help my students practice math and literacy skills on their individual level. We are lucky enough to have use of Chromebooks in our classroom, and IXL helps us make good use of them. Students can choose to practice from any common core skills in math and literacy. I can also assign skills to students based on what they need. Not only is it individualized, it is without using lots of paper, and without me having to spend time making individualized worksheets. It’s green and it’s easy!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
