it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember when Math was no longer fun? Help my students continue to be engaged in Math by having class manipulatives that support their learning!
My students are 16 incredibly eager scholars.
They are self-motivated and have fallen in love with math! They constantly ask for extra math work for their free time and get excited when it's time for math. Unfortunately, my students go to a school in a low income community and they lack a lot of the tools more privileged students posses.
My Project
Math stations will be a breeze with this grant. They will have quick activities to work on as I work with small groups of students. They will also have manipulatives to play with that can help them understand the concept. Math can continue to be exciting and fun; they just need more hands-on activities to continue their learning. Having the interactive white board activities will keep them engaged through out an entire unit.
As an instructor I try to find ways to engage them through each lesson.
I know that if they had the proper resources, they would grasp the concepts much more quickly and have a lot of fun doing it. Math manipulatives are developmentally-appropriate, hands-on objects that students can use will learning a specific concept. I will be able to use them for years to come and engage my students much more easily.
